Baseball & Softball
The Prep’s baseball instruction is completely tailored to the needs of your athlete! Private instruction is broken down into 30-minute or 60-minute sessions and can focus on hitting, fielding, baserunning, throwing and sport-specific drills. Our experienced coaching staff is made up of former collegiate and professional players that are incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of the game. Train with the best! The Prep of South Tampa is proud to partner with Basketball Director, DeCarlo Deveaux. In 1994, DeCarlo was named National Player of the Year by College Sports Magazine and was a first-team NABC All-American at The University of Tampa. In addition, he was a two-time Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year and holds the school’s all-time scoring record. Coach DeCarlo runs all of our skills training sessions and leagues. He is also available for one-on-one private training and small group sessions.
FitKids is a physical fitness program designed to introduce students to a lifetime of exercise and provide a foundation for all sports in a fun and inclusive environment. Students will progress from basic to advanced physical awareness through activities incorporating boot camp training and track and field that develop and enhance agility, strength, endurance and flexibility. Our coaches are all fitness professionals with backgrounds that include certified personal training, US military training, collegiate athletics and fitness focused college degrees.
The Prep of South Tampa wants to build your hockey skills while having a good time in friendly competition! Each week players will begin the session moving through various drills with our team of coaches. Next, players will be split into teams to play a friendly competitive game. Teams mixed up each week!

What is Futsal? Futsal is a 5-on-5 form of soccer that’s played indoors (without walls) on a basketball sized field using a smaller, heavier low bounce ball.
Benefits of Futsal? The size & weight of the ball results in it being on the floor more often, which helps in developing agility and ball control skills, including passing, receiving and dribbling. With fewer players on the field, each player has more opportunity to handle the ball. Due to the size of the field, players are frequently placed in one-on-one encounters with opponents. This helps develop their reflexes and to learn to make decisions quickly under pressure.
Coach Chris Helms hopes to grow a program in the South Tampa community that sparks a passion for soccer and prepares future talent for career aspirations such as scholarships and/or professional pathways. Join us on a monthly basis to work on becoming the best you can be! Learn sportsmanship and leadership while having fun and creating lifelong friends!
Sporty Kids is a program designed to introduce popular sports and PE games to active children of various ages. Throughout the weeks, we will work on improving fine motor skills, coordination, balance, muscle memory, and more by implementing new skills into organized games. We hope that through these games, athletes will become better at communicating, decision-making, and learning their personal strengths and weaknesses. Watch as your athlete builds the skills and the confidence needed to become a Sporty Kid!
