Elite Technique Gymnastics

We are a premier gymnastics and tumbling program in South Tampa Florida. Our mission is to help kids learn healthy physical, mental and social skills through gymnastics and tumbling in a fun, positive, safe learning environment.

Elite Technique’s developmental gymnastics program meets your child at their fitness and gymnastics skill level. One of our goal’s is to improve their strength, balance, flexibility, and coordination through proven lesson plans using various pieces of equipment.

 

Fall 2019 Gymnastics Classes

Gymnastics & Tumbling Class Descriptions 

  • Minis &  Mini Mites – Ages 3 – 4 – Coed

    Tuesday Mini Mites class is FULL. Please email etgymnastics@gmail.com to be added to the waitlist.

Space still available in our Thursday and Saturday Minis and Thursday and Saturday Mini Mites classes!
A 45-min. class in which young gymnasts will focus on gross motor development, strength, flexibility and body awareness. Opportunities will be incorporated to learn gymnastics fundamentals using safe, fun, proven lesson plans.

Prerequisites: Children must be potty trained and comfortable with separation from parent/guardian.

  • Mighty Mites – Ages 4 – 5 – Coed

A 45-min. gymnastics class in which young gymnasts will continue to focus on gross motor development, strength, flexibility and body awareness. More opportunities will be incorporated to learn gymnastics fundamentals using safe, fun, proven lesson plans.

Prerequisites: Must be age 4 i.a.w. HCPS by September 1, 2015, able to follow directions and be comfortable with separation from parent/guardian.

  • Elite Technique Gladiators – Ages 4 – 5 & 6 – 8 – Boys

Our ET Gladiators will use tumbling and obstacle course circuits to build strength, agility, flexibility and stamina. Various pieces of gymnastics equipment will be harnessed to catapult our young Gladiators to the next level of fitness and fun in a safe learning environment.

Prerequisites: Must be age 4 i.a.w. HCPS by September 1, 2015, able to follow directions and be comfortable with separation from parent/guardian.

  • Dyna Mites – Ages 5 – 6,  Kindergarten – Coed

A 60-min. gymnastics class for both beginner and advanced beginner level gymnasts. Class begins with a group warm-up and stretch followed by skills on various pieces of gymnastics equipment. Strength, flexibility drills and a focus on safety, body awareness and proper technique are incorporated throughout class using fun, proven lesson plans to build solid skill progressions.

Skills taught include: cartwheels, variations of bridges, bridge kick over, handstands on floor, casts, incline pullover, chin hangs on bars, pivot turns, beginning leaps, jumps on beam, hurdles, jump to roll with spot on vault.

Prerequisites: Must be age 5 i.a.w. HCPS by September 1, 2014, able to follow directions and be comfortable with separation from parent/guardian.

  • Level 1/1A – Ages 6 – 9 – Girls

A 60-min. gymnastics class for both beginner and advanced beginner level gymnasts. Class begins with a group warm-up and stretch followed by skills on various pieces of gymnastics equipment.   • Level 1A/2 – Ages 7 – 10 – Girls
    *Coach Recommendation or Evaluation Required *

A 60 min. gymnastics class for intermediate level gymnasts. Class begins with a group warm-up and stretch followed by skills on various pieces of gymnastics equipment. Strength, flexibility drills and a focus on safety, body awareness and proper technique are incorporated throughout class using fun, proven lesson plans to build solid skill progressions.

Skills taught include: Front and back walkovers, barrel back handsprings, punch to pullover on high bar, shoot throughs, leg cut, and mill circle drills,  intro to handstands, turns, split leaps on beam, hurdle onto board jump to handstand forward roll and flat back.

Prerequisites: Mastery of skills from Level 1/1A Gymnastics Class.  Round off, bridge kick over, handstand bridge forward, pullover and cast back hip circle on low bar, jumps on beam, and cartwheel on low beam, hurdle jump to roll on vault performed without a spot.  *Please email etgymnastics@gmail.com for evaluation day/time.*

  • Level 2A/3 – Ages 8 – 12 – Girls
    *Coach Recommendation or Evaluation Required *

A gymnastics class for intermediate – advanced level gymnasts. Class begins with a group warm-up and stretch followed by skills on various pieces of gymnastics equipment. Strength, flexibility drills and a focus on safety, body awareness and proper technique are incorporated throughout class using fun, proven lesson plans to build solid skill progressions.

Skills taught include: front/back handsprings, kip drills, front hip circles, mini routine on bars, various handstands, leaps, mini routine on beam, front handspring vault. 

Prerequisites: Mastery of skills from Level 2 Gymnastics Class. Running Round off, front/back walkovers, handspring over barrel without a spot, shoot through, leg cut on bar with out a spot, handstand, turns, leaps on, handstand flat back on vault performed without a spot.  *Please email etgymnastics@gmail.com for evaluation day/time.*

 

Tumbling Classes Ages 6 – 14

  • Beginner – Beginner Advanced Tumbling – Ages 6 – 9 – Girls
    All classes are FULL.  Please email etgymnastics@gmail.com to be added to the waitlist.

A 60 min. tumbling class for both beginner and advanced beginner level tumblers.  Class begins with a group warm-up and stretch followed by strength, flexibility drills and skills. A focus on safety, body awareness and proper technique are incorporated throughout class to build solid skill progressions.

Some of the skills taught in class are a bridge, handstand, cartwheel, round-off, handstand bridge forward, bridge kick over and limbers.

  • Intermediate – Intermediate Advanced Tumbling – Ages 7 – 11 – Girls
    *Coach Recommendation or Evaluation Required *
                                       
    A tumbling class for intermediate tumblers.  Tumblers will be expected to have a moderate to high level of flexibility and a mastery of beginning skills. They will continue to work on improving strength and flexibility.  Tumblers will continue to review and practice Beginner Tumbling skills as well as learn how to transition front limbers, backbend kick overs to front/back walkovers through various drills.   Once accomplished tumblers will begin skills and drills for aerials and back handsprings.  A focus on safety, body awareness and proper technique is incorporated throughout class to build solid skill progressions.

Prerequisite: Mastery of skills from ETG’s Beginner Tumbling Class. Hold a handstand for 3 sec., Front Limber, Backbend Kick Over, Round-Off all performed without a spot. *Evaluation Required.  Please email etgymnastics@gmail.com for evaluation day/time.*

  • Advanced Tumbling – Ages 11 – 14 – Girls *Evaluation Required*
    *Coach Recommendation or Evaluation Required *

A tumbling class for advanced tumblers.  Tumblers will be expected to have a high level of flexibility and a mastery of Intermediate Advanced skills. They will continue to review and practice Intermediate Advanced Tumbling drills and skills for side, front aerials and front/back handsprings, round – off back handsprings.  Tumblers may spend more time on drills to accomplish these skills as well as repetition to master.   A focus on safety, body awareness and proper technique is incorporated throughout class to build solid skill progressions.

Prerequisite: Mastery of skills from ETG’s Intermediate Tumbling Class.  front/back walkovers, mastery of aerial, front/back handspring all performed without a spot. *Please email etgymnastics@gmail.com for evaluation day/time.*
