Art Camps: Summer 2019

  • Wonders of nature: June 17-21

In our Wonders of Nature themed art camp, campers will create art inspired by the beauty of nature, including animals, natural scenery and landscapes!  A variety of mediums including paper mache, collage work and water colors will allow your child’s creativity come to life!

  •  World Traveler: June 24-28

Don’t forget your passport! In our World Traveler themed art camp, campers will “travel” to a different destination each day and use a variety of mediums to create multi-cultural art pieces from around the globe!  Destinations include Italy, Australia and Japan to name a few.  Bon Voyage! 

  •  Storybook Adventures: July 15-19

Our Storybook Adventures camp is dedicated to favorite children’s literature where we will learn what it means to be an author/illustrator.  Campers will draw, paint and recreate characters and scenes from books specifically chosen for their beautiful artwork and story lines.  If your child enjoys storytelling and illustrating, don’t miss this creative adventure! 

  • Crafty Kids: July 22-26

In our Crafty Kids art camp, campers will explore their craftier side and enjoy the excitement of creating unique art projects using 3D mediums such as clay, wood, collage and much more! 


Hours: 9am-2pm Cost: $249 per week GRADEs: K-5th

At the end of each week families are invited to an art show featuring your child’s artwork and creations!

Cora Waterhouse is an artist who recently moved to Tampa and has quickly found it to be a great place to work and share her passion for growing and nurturing new artists. In 2 years she's launched and currently teaches 5 adult art classes at the Old Hyde park Art Center. She has also spent a great few summers working with children for the Dali Museum Summer Outreach Program. Last summer She also wrote and taught Art Expressions for Hillsborough Community College Youth and Teen Camp. Cora is always looking for new artistic adventures and is thrilled by how Tampa delivers so many great opportunities to work at what she loves

StART class is 12 weeks and is billed in 3 payments of $150 each. First payment due at time of registration.

Class is limited to 8 students

Adult Art Workshops with Denise Buckelew

  • polymer clay and metal adult workshop - February 16 & 23, 2019

Learn how to work with and design polymer clay cane. Use the cane to create veneers for beads and pendants. Create a textured metal surface upon which to mount your polymer clay pendant. Limit 5 students.

$50 per student/ 10am-1pm both Saturdays

  • Bookbinding Handmade Journals Adult Workshop- March 9 & 16, 2019

Learn about materials used in bookbinding. Make and instant book, a pamphlet-stitched “moleskin” book, and a small leather journal. Limit 5 students

$65 per student/ 10am-1pm both Saturdays

  • Jewelry Making Basics Adult Workshop - April 20 & 27, 2019

Learn basic jewelry making techniques. Students will learn how to make jump rings – a basic staple of necklaces and bracelets. We will also anneal copper and silver. Learn how to work a jeweler's saw, bend and shape a simple ring and how to make simple bales for necklaces. We will work with a small butane torch as well as hammers and stamps. Limit 4 students
